Development continues… 2D mazes are now improved with see-through floors (ready for 3D), improved backgrounds to contrast with the maze better and a colouring system – that shows you the way to the exit.
Plus, using a cellular automata algorithm, the shapes of the mazes are no longer squares, but “controlled-random” grids. It makes the world far more exciting than a simple square. See some examples below, and see how it scales when the maze becomes more complex.
